Game Worlds

We’ve built a game world for writers where the more you write the more you’ll unlock. There are over 50 areas filled with their own characters, monsters and adventures to discover.

In this guide we’ll go over how our game world works, the difference between world maps and areas and how to move through the game.

Our game’s areas are organized into World Maps that you visit by clicking on the Adventure section on the site’s sidebar. 

Open the different World Maps you have access to by clicking on a map’s name in the tab menu:

Areas you’ve unlocked and can visit will be highlighted by an Area Medal. The area you’re currently visiting will be replaced by your Avatar:

Hover over an Area’s medal to open up an information window and click on the “Travel Here” button to travel into that area:

When you travel to an area from the World Map the first page you’ll see in the “Town” view of that area. You can click the “Back to [Name of world]” button on the top left to go back to the World Map view:

We have a set of permanent World Maps you can unlock by completing quests:

• Our Valley: our main map where our 11 main areas are

• Winter’s Island: second main map where main areas are still being discovered

• Expedition Areas: secondary map with extra “side” areas that complement the main Valley areas

• Aurilis Magic Academy: secondary map with extra “side” areas dedicated to the study of magic

During large Special Events (April & November) we’ll have an additional World Map just for that event that is available to everyone. Read our Special Events Guide for more information.

Our Valley is our main map and where the majority of our game unfolds. 

There are 11 main areas on this map, each playing an integral part in our storyline and your Dust Warrior journey.

Your adventure begins in Luciola Forest, the first area of our game. Unlock new main areas by completing Main Storyline Quests in your Journal:

Your journey will take you from west to east, from the forest to the Dust Mountain and the King’s Castle. When you complete the Valley map you’ll gain access to our second world: Winter’s Island. 

Our second main map, where the main areas and story of the game continue is called Winter’s Island:

Once you’ve completed the main story in our Valley you’ll gain access to the first main area on Winter’s Island called Nivali Camp.

Winter’s Island is still being actively discovered. 

The latest area was unlocked in August 2023 and the next main area is scheduled to be released in August 2024. 

The Expedition Areas world map is a secondary map where “extra” or “side” areas are unlocked by completing optional side quests.

These expedition areas complement the Valley’s main areas with more depth and content. There are currently 24 expedition areas:

Expedition areas are unlocked by completing side quests available in Quest markets of other areas.

Quests that unlock areas are easily identifiable as they’ll have the Area Medal as the main image for the quest:

In some cases you’ll need to complete other quests in an area before you see a quest that unlocks side areas.
