The Account Settings page is where you can manage most of the settings for your 4thewords account.


In this guide we’ll go over the settings you’ll find in the “General Settings” box.

Animations

The “Animations” settings allows you to enable or disable motion animated graphics that appear when you use Consumable Potions in Battle.


These animations are visible on top of the monster images that appear on the Write Screen and in the Command Center:

Progress Celebration

The “Progress Celebration” settings allows you to enable or disable the full-screen celebrations:

These appear when you achieve important actions like:

  • Completing a Quest

  • Leveling Up

Chat Widget

The “Chat Widget” settings allows you to enable or disable a quick-access icon on the header of the site for chatting with Friends:

New Battle Window
The “New Battle Window” settings allows you to enable or disable a window that appears with recent files when you click the “Fight Now” button in the Wilderness:
Daily Streak Celebration
The “Daily Streak Celebration” settings allows you to enable or disable the full-screen celebrations when you reach Streak milestones.
Receive marketing emails

Decide whether you want to receive marketing and special occasion emails from us. These include reminders of upcoming special events, limited-time deals and more.

Show Apprentice Checklist

The “Apprentice Checklist” settings allows you to enable or disable the checklist tutorial for new accounts.

Opt out Copy/Paste

Decide whether you want words you Copy/Paste into the site count toward your daily stats or not.

Default Settings
We have a series of “defaults” you can set for your account:


  • Default Forum Category order: pick what order forum posts will appear for you
  • On New File Created: what you prefer happens when you add a new File
  • On New Project Created: what you prefer happens when you add a new Project
  • Default Icon & Color for new files: pick the icon and color new files will be created with
Site-Wide Size

Personalize the general size of elements on the site.
