The Account Settings page is where you can manage most of the settings for your 4thewords account. Personalize your experience so 4thewords works for you.


This guide we’ll go over the basic information you can modify:

  • Username
  • Email
  • Password Update
  • Timezone

Basic Information

Username

Your username is publicly displayed across the platform. 


It’s how you show up to others, the name that’ll appear when you share images or a project, and what other Dust Warriors will search for to find you.


Usernames:

  • Must be between 6 and 12 characters

  • Cannot include spaces

  • Cannot include profanity

  • Can be updated every 14 days

Update Username

To update your username go to the Account Settings page and type in the new username you’d like:

Click “Check Availability” to make sure the name is available.

If the name is available click “Save Changes.”


Congratulations, your new username has been saved!

Email

To update your email go to the Account Settings page and type in the new email you’d like:

Click “Save Changes” to save your new email. 

Password

To update your password go to the Account Settings page and click the “Update Password” button:

This will open a window where you’ll type in your current password followed by the new password you’d like.


Passwords must:

  • Be longer than 6 characters

  • Have at least 1 number

Type in your new password and click “Update Password” when you’re done.

Timezone

Your account’s timezone is automatically detected when you create your account.

We use your timezone to detect when your midnight and date change is for things like:

  • Your Streak Day

  • Number of max battles per day


If you write at night, are traveling, or want a timezone that’s more comfortable you can select a new timezone.

Update Timezone

To update your Timezone click on the Timezone dropdown:

Type in the city of the timezone you’d like to search for it:

Select the timezone and click “Save Changes”
