Streak Basics

Showing up for your writing is important and doing so consecutively leads to amazing results.
Some days will be easier than others and if we’re talking about building a 3-month, 1-year or even 5+ year consecutive streak we’ll need a system, some rewards along the way and a way to fix mistakes when they happen.
In this guide we’ll go over how to achieve, maintain and repair your writing streaks.
Streak Day
For a streak day to count you have to write at least 444 words on that day.
When you cross 444 words in a day it counts as a successful streak day and adds a point toward both your consecutive and cumulative streaks.
Cumulative Streak
Your Cumulative streak adds up all the days you’ve crossed the 444 word mark and had a “successful streak day”. It’s a stacking measure that you can never break and keeps growing over time.
Cumulative Streak Example: If you have 5 days in March where you wrote 445 words each day, you’ll add 5 days to your cumulative streak, regardless of what days you wrote.
Consecutive Streak
Consecutive streaks count how many days in a row, one after the other, you’ve crossed the 444 word mark and had a “successful streak day”.
If you miss a day, your consecutive streak is broken and you can either repair it or start again.
Consecutive Streak Example: You wrote 445 words on March 1st, March 2nd, March 3rd, March 4th and March 5th, so your consecutive streak is 5 days. If you don’t write 445+ words on March 6th, your consecutive streak is 0.
You can track your cumulative and consecutive streaks on your Streak page.
Consecutive streaks are the streaks we focus on the most and what we refer to in-game when a Quest Objective asks for a certain streak count.
